Hvert år holdes Barnas fredsprisfest 10. desember i Oslo. Showet er laget av og for barn, med fredsprisvinnerne som æresgjester.
Festkomiteen består hvert år av 12 syvendeklassinger fra Grünerløkka, Kampen og Vålerenga skole. Barna er programledere, presseansvarlige og produsenter, og barn fra andre skoler til å være publikum. I tillegg streames arrangementet live på denne siden, og opptaket vil også bli tilgjengeliggjort i ettertid.

Nobels fredspris er en internasjonal pris som deles ut årlig av Den norske Nobelkomite etter retningslinjer fastsatt i Alfred Nobels testamente. Fredsprisen er én av fem priser som siden 1901 har blitt utdelt i regi av Nobelstiftelsen i Stockholm for fremragende innsats innenfor områdene fysikk, kjemi, fysiologi eller medisin, litteratur og fred. I regi av Sveriges Riksbank er det fra og med 1969 også blitt delt ut en pris i økonomisk vitenskap til Alfred Nobels minne.
Mens de øvrige prisene deles ut av fagkomiteer med sete i Sverige, deles altså fredsprisen ut av en komité oppnevnt av Det norske Storting. Ifølge Nobels testamente skal fredsprisen gå til den «som har verkat mest eller bäst för folkens förbrödrande och afskaffande eller minskning af stående arméer samt bildande och spridande af fredskongresser». I prisen inngår en medalje, et personlig diplom og et større prisbeløp (for tiden 11 millioner kroner).
Nobels fredspris er blitt kalt «verdens mest ærefulle pris». Prisen overrekkes under en seremoni i Oslo Rådhus den 10. desember, som er Alfred Nobels dødsdag.

Save the Children Peace Prize Party
The Save the Children Peace Prize Party is a collaboration between Save the Children Norway, The Norwegian Nobel Institute and The Nobel Peace Center. The Save the Children Peace Prize Party was arranged in Oslo for the first time in 1997 when The International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL) and Jody Williams were awarded with the Peace Prize. Since then, the Save the Children Peace Prize Party has been a part of the official program for the Nobel Peace Prize. This year Save the Children Peace Prize Party takes place outside of the Nobel Peace Center on December 10th at 11.00 – 12.00, shortly before the official Nobel Peace Prize ceremony at Oslo City Hall.
12 children from Oslo constitute a children’s committee, which is involved in planning, arranging and hosting the event. It will be a show with music, speeches and interviews, all planned and done by the children. With the strong involvement of children in the process of arranging the Save the Children Peace Prize Party, the children get the opportunity to work with peace, focusing on solidarity with children in other countries and to ensure that children’s voices are heard. The show is made by children and for children!
All 7th graders in Oslo and surrounding areas are invited to be in the audience. Other distinguished quests who are invited to attend the event, besides the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, are HRH the Crown Prince Haakon, HRH the Crown Princess Mette-Marit, the Mayor of Oslo Anne Lindboe and the Director of the Nobel Peace Center Kjersti Fløgstad. The masters of ceremonies from the children’s committee will lead the session with the Prize Laureate and ask questions that the children have prepared. The event will be streamed live with Norwegian schools as the primary target group.
